To get some perspective, how much were you asking for the studio for the week?
Don't remember exactly (maybe $395/night?), but it was below most (all?) other studios we saw listed for the property. In fact, we received this from RW:
**In order to better assist you, I compared your pricing with others on the market and found other units priced higher. You may price your unit higher and still be competitive. To stay competitive, I would recommend pricing it $750- $850 per night. Please confirm if you wish to increase your price and the amount.
In December we started lowering it, eventually giving up and booking airfare as we decided to just enjoy the week rather than cancel. Once there we met a couple that said they sold a week in Hawaii so now we're thinking that's probably a better destination. Problem for us: we're on the east coast so if we fail to rent, it's quite a trip out there.
Renting a studio out at Los Cabos is not going to be anywhere near what you are paying for your Maintenance Fees.
Understood; we're just looking for some relief.
You could parallel list on go-koala.com. Also list on Facebook pages for Westin, Marriott owners and resorts.
We're certainly willing to try different sites. Vacation Candy was recommended by our Vistana sales rep, but I saw they had bad reviews ever since Covid, so we avoided them. go-koala: Just read that Koala handles our txn like RW and only bills after a sale -- a better deal IMO. Will definitely try them.
Expand your world to those not familiar with timeshares and will appreciate that you can save them money thru companies like Airbnb and VRBO
We've rented several times from these vendors but never thought to post our timeshare with them. Have you (or anyone else) had success with Airbnb or VRBO?
with everything going on, I suspect a lot of potential renters are sitting on the fence, not sure if they want to commit to a vacation right now
Appreciate that. Maybe post a week in May, after people get their refunds?
