Frontier poaches Southwest customers this summer!

We tried the Frontier "Go Wild Pass" program over a year ago. Frontier is an Airline from HEdoublehockeysticks. Yeah the fares were "cheap" until the commandant at the gate made you measure your personal item and usually determined if it didn't easily fit in or a strap was hanging out then you HAD TO PAY the carry-on penalty or you weren't boarding the flight. No second chances or debating the commanders decision. We heard, not sure if it's true, that the gate commanders get a bonus for everyone they ding. The schedules (especially international) really suck from airports not in their hub cities. Majority of the staff were rude and uncaring. Don't even think about switching seats even after the doors were closed before departure. Never again is what we learned. Maybe we will try them again some day. Probably not. YMMV. I sure hope SWA doesn't turn into Frontier.

We have had good luck with Frontier. We never had anyone measure our personal items. My husband carries a 20” duffle bag and it fits right under the seat.
Their seats are not comfortable, though, even the premium ones. I wouldn’t recommend using them for a long flight. We went from NY JFK to LAS a couple of weeks ago. The flight left and arrived on time, but 6 hours in those seats was a bit rough.
