This seems like a no brainer but is there a catch?

Frontier is offering 40,500 bonus points for opening a CC account and paying a $69 fee and making one purchase on the card. It was an in flight offer.

They charge 10,000 points for a one-way ticket where every they fly so that part is easy.

I'm figuring I can pay the $69 and get us two round trips.

Get it for the bonus and forget it? What do you know about this card?

Does anyone think it's a bad idea to get this card?

I've only heard very negative things about Frontier Airlines (I've never flown them). You can get similar deals with most airline credit cards. I'd hold out for one that doesn't have a painful flying experience.

There's nothing to "hold" because you can have as many credit cards as your credit will allow.

I'll be flying Frontier in a couple weeks so maybe I should sign up too :)

BTW - I think I saw your thread on this topic on FlyerTalk. They had some great advice there.

Thank you for the replies, I flew them last week and I have no complaints. In fact I have to give them a thumbs up for de-planing a passenger who was seated behind me.

I heard the people talking about their friend just having had an "accident" and was cleaning up. Well, when he boarded it was obvious the clean up did not go well and he smelled pretty bad.

Before I could raise an objection the gate agent came in and asked him to go with her and they left the plane. She came back to tell his friends that the flight crew insisted they would not be taking him so one of his flying partners also left to attend to him and we immediately took off when they left the plane.

I joined FT because I hadn't gotten any response here. The offer I got while on the flight is a little better than you can get on their site, I don't have to spend $500 to get the points, just one purchase and they give me 40,500 points.

I've been looking but can't find another airline card that will give me four flights where ever they fly for only the $69.
