Unused Timeshares in Sunbelt Locations are Surprising Bargains in the Coming two Months

Paradise for only $299 a week. For parties of up to six persons—that's $299 for all of you. In resort apartments. And here's the explanation:

Apartments in resorts—fully-furnished, fully-equipped, one bedroom or two-bedroom apartments in large oceanfront, lakefront or mountain resorts—are the main "stock in trade" of EVRentals.com (standing for Endless Vacation Rentals), a subsidiary of the giant Wyndham Hotels chain (largest current owner or manager of worldwide hotels). Despite the fact that these apartments are direct competitors to the use of hotel accommodations, Wyndham went into the apartment-rental business a couple of years ago, and has grown EVRentals into a major vacation source.

Most of those resort apartments are owned as timeshares. And this year, economic conditions have resulted in their being heavily unused. Frantic about business conditions, many timeshare owners are staying home and foregoing vacations, leaving their timeshares unused—and therefore available for rental by you.

The above is my own speculation as to why Wyndham has now placed "on sale," at desperation levels, the many thousands of timeshares which it represents through EVRentals.com. In travel news of immense importance, Wyndham (or EVRentals) has this week announced the "Year End BlowOut," a price of $299 per week for a complete vacation apartment from October 11 through December 20, provided only that the reservation is made no later than October 19. These apartments (thousands of them) are available at famous resorts in:

California
Florida
Arizona
Nevada
Tennessee
Texas
The Bahamas
Canada
St. Maarten
And in a dozen other states of the United States

You book by phoning 877/782-9387 or by going, for more information, to www.wyndham-vacations.com. In a footnote to its main menu description of the program, Wyndham emphasizes:

Book by 10/19/09 for weekly stays only, October 16, 2009 through December 20, 2009. All travel must be completed by December 20, 2009. Not valid on check-ins for November 20-22, 2009. Promotion cannot be combined with any other discount or offer. Specific resorts and specific dates will reflect discount. Discount not applicable to any other properties or dates.

Wanna bet that you'll never again see a $299 weekly price for these luxurious, kitchen-equipped accommodations?
