Vail Run Resort, Vail, Colorado
  • Fixed 1-Bedroom Unit (same for both weeks)
  • Fixed Weeks 51 and 52
  • Annual Use
  • First year of use is 2021
  • Confirmed reservation: 12/18/2021 to 12/25/2021
  • Confirmed reservation: 12/25/2021 to 12/1/2022
  • Week 53 use is granted in some years (must check with resort)
  • Estimated resort transfer fee: $400 per week
  • Annual maintenance fee: $2,250 per week
I would like to give away these two fixed weeks in the same unit, as I can no longer use them. I only want to give them away together as a pair, and would not like to give away one week at a time. In order to proceed with the transfer, we can sign a purchase agreement for $1 and establish escrow. Buyer must deposits $4,500 for the 2021 maintenance fees of the two week into escrow for the transfer process to commence.

The unit can accommodate up to 6 people. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, second floor unit. The building has an elevator. There is one separated bedroom with two queen beds (sleeps 2 in each bed). The living room has a queen sized sleeper sofa (sleeps 2). The unit also has a complete kitchen, dining area, and working gas fireplace.

This unit's bedroom area has a wide opening connecting it to the living room area. There is an accordion wall between the bedroom area and the living room area to close off the opening, but this accordion wall does not afford the same privacy as a traditional solid wall.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
* Max Occupancy: 6 people
* Bedroom #1: two queen beds
* Living Room: one queen sleeper sofa
* Full kitchen
* Gas fireplace in unit
* No pets allowed
* Non-smoking resort
* Shared coin-laundry facilities available at property

ABOUT: The resort itself offers a gym with weights and cardio equipment, a heated swimming pool, a hot tub, sauna, game room, free wireless Internet, lounge with complementary coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and computers. Shared washers and dryers are located at the property. Guests can take the free Vail public bus service, as the bus stop is located right next to the property. The resort also offers access to Vail’s Gondola #1 and Lionshead Gondola with their VIP bus shuttle service. More about the resort is available on their website at VAILRUNRESORT DOT CO

Correction to the original post: confirmed reservation should be: 12/25/2021 to 1/1/2022

IMHO the most important criteria in determining if you want to own a timeshare is the maintenance fees. If the fees are too high, I don't want it at any price. The main way I evaluate if fees are too high is if you can rent the week for substantially more than the maintenance fee. If not, there's no reason to own it and assume the liability of having to pay those fees every year.
What about owning it to use it and then renting it out for those years you don't want to use it? Some people own timeshares because they enjoy travelling and like the predictability and familiarity of going back to same place year after year. Travelling to new places is fun, but has its own stresses and not for everyone. Sounds like this is not a good fit for you. But that doesn't mean it won't work for others.

BTW, I have always been able to recover my MF (through renting) for those years I have not used it.

The weeks are desirable holiday ski weeks and in a premier ski destination. What the premium is for those weeks is up to the buyer. You either pay on the way in or pay over time. I have paid over 10,000 for ski weeks in other destinations and it has taken 8 years to recoup initial investment. I do not think it is helpful to be overly critical about a free offering. If you do not think it is a good value just pass over the ad. But don't try to jinx the person who is offering it for free.

A number of posts have been deleted. If anyone has accurate factual info about this resort, I think it's fair to post it. However, if you are just speculating, and being critical, you should either verify your claims before posting, or not post.

This offer may not be your cup of tea, but it's really not fair to sabotage someone elses offer.

Surprised you can't give these away. High fees, but those are great ski weeks and should be easy rentals.

Looks like some of the owners run and independent rental group. Maybe a pro renter will take them from you.
