Vacation Villas at Fantasy World 2, Orlando, Annual Float 234 w/lockout, Fees Just Paid

This is a Festiva owned property and is only a few miles from Disney. The fees were just paid and there is a exchange you can do right now if you want. the annual fees are $800 but I can provide the statement for last year. I have owned it since 2006 or 2007. I have the original deed and paperwork. We used it when we live closer but the kids have grown up and we have moved farther away.

Just for clarity, Vacation Villas at Fantasy World 2 is the timeshare resort situated right next to the original Vacation Village At Fantasy World (also known as FantasyWorld Club Villas).

The difference it makes is that the original is administratively & physically separate from Vacation Villas at Fantasy World 2 & the 2 resorts apparently have no connection, no shared-facility agreements, & nothing in common other than the (semi-confusing) similarity of their names, plus their side-by-side location on Kyngs Heath, Kissimmee FL.

Full Disclosure: We have not (yet) stayed at Vacation Villas at Fantasy World 2, but we did get a quick look inside 1 of their extremely nice 2BR units, thanks to a helpful & courteous front-desk employee who offered to show us when we stopped buy asking about the resort. That was while we were staying at the original Vacation Villas At Fantasy World timeshare next door, on an RCI bonus week reservation. Units at the original FantasyWorld are all 2BR townhouse-style accommodations, with both bedrooms & 1 bathroom upstairs. The main feature that draws us to the older FantasyWorld timeshare is not the units, but the extremely nice on-site water park that our granddaughters enjoy so much. It has a lazy river & dual tall water slides (up 51 steps -- I counted), zero-depth entry main pool, hot tub spa, splash pad for kids, & poolside bar/restaurant. The water park is so nice that we don't mind putting up with having to climb stairs in our unit to get to the bedrooms. Units at Vacation Villas at Fantasy World 2 are nicer, in our opinion.

Always something to do in sunny Orlando. Maybe I should rent this out instead of giving it away

Renting out your timeshare unit might be advantageous to you, depending on how much margin (in your favor) there is between the annual cost of maintenance fees on the 1 hand & on the other hand the amount you can get for renting out your unit for a week.

I am not aware of any agencies that will find tenants & handle rental arrangements for you, meaning renting out your timeshare is a do-it-yourself proposition. But renting it out yourself does not cut into your receipts, by contrast with fees you would have to pay to an agency if you were able to find a good 1.

Full Disclosure: In our early years of timesharing (when we thought we knew it all & had mastered the system) we were able to rent out our own paid-for weeks for enough to pay maintenance fees plus enough left over to pay for our own Last Call & Instant Exchange timeshare reservations -- practically like vacationing for free. After a few years, it got harder & took longer to find renters & the gap narrowed between what we could collect in rent & what we had to pay in maintenance fees. Before long the game was no longer worth the candle, & that was that. So it goes.
