Keep your eyes open for Tylan Washington and his ‘business’ a supposed leasing company out of Columbus, OH.
Fraudulent business dealings in trying to purchase from TUG members. Sellers BEWARE!!

What did he do in trying to scam?

Requested the property, negotiated pricing, I sent all my docs to LT Transfers and now won’t pay the fee or return calls/emails from either me or LT Transfers.

Where did you find this buyer? Did they cold call you, or was it on a Legit website?

It was a request through TUG, that’s why I’m sharing it. I was Tuggers to know that there might be some who aren’t authentic.

With all due respect, not sure this person is a scammer since they had nothing to gain from reneging on the purchase. This person may have had cold feet (shame on them if they didn’t at least let you know) or was hit by a bus and can’t respond.

This is another reason that it is smart to use an good Title Transfer company, because most scammers are going to be scared off by the requirement to use a formal transfer process. However, buyers do get cold feet, so at this point, it's hard to know what happened here.

Send an email to the first buyer and give him 72 hours to get the funds to LT Transfers otherwise he forfeits his opportunity to purchase. You don't want him coming out of the woodwork after you attempt to find another buyer.

Folks flake all the time. At least you're not out anything other than time wasted.

Point taken.

I had a Tugger do the same thing to me. He agreed to buy, we went through all the process, and halfway through, he flaked out on me. He’s still active on Tug, posts like nothing happened, and thinks I forgot about it. I didn’t. I know his name, and what a jackass he is.

Well, I'm a jackass - that's what my DW tells me.
But at least I wasn't your jackass. ;)

In another vein... I recently tried to hire a handyman.
He made an appointment to come by and talk to me.
He never showed. I texted+emailed, but got no reply.
He's ghosted me. Jackasses are just about anywhere.

Thanks, Dave!

It wasn't you. But you already knew that. :D

Here in small-town Lizard, Nevada, (that's the town's nickname ;) ), it's almost front-page news when a scheduled home repair company or landscaper or painting crew and so forth actually show up. But even if they show up, there is no guarantee they'll finish the work. I'm currently "negotiating" via text with a landscape company that was super-responsive to my initial call to have them come and overhaul my front yard. They showed up the first day, worked very hard, and did great work. They needed a second day to finish things, but they haven't been back since. It's been more than three weeks. The front yard is mostly finished, but it isn't done. The most recent promise was to come this past week and take care of things. They didn't show up. <sigh> So there we are. One caveat in my favor - I haven't paid them, and won't, until the project is completed. Fair is fair.

Wish that was possible with these properties. Payment first, paperwork afterward.

I do it the other way around. About the only time I'm paid before providing a guest confirmation is if the sale is through ebay.

As an aside, the term "fraud" is erroneously tossed around a lot on TUG.
