Resorts Owned
HGVC - Lagoon, W57th, MarBrisa, Paradise
Had anyone considered these arrangements, or better yet taken the plunge?

Here is an article summarizing the concept and some of the names in the space:

I love my HGVC but we are thinking ahead about five years to retirement and kids flying the coop and plan to spend longer stretches (ie 2-6 weeks) traveling to Europe.

These are more expensive than TS of course but it's more like owning real estate and they promise quite a bit of access per share.

They were around before today's timeshares. Mainly for people who want to spend a month in the same place every year.

IMHO, it’s more of an evolving spectrum between timeshares and fractionals than a sharp break. I own a fair number of weeks at a wide variety on the spectrum, some of which are more closely aligned with this type of things.

I started doing exchanges into vacation homes through ThirdHome using my timeshare weeks and wound up buying a several fraction at Flora Farms that gives me fixed weeks in the same stand alone house every year. They swear that it’s a fractional and not a timeshare and not a timeshare, but there are a lot of common characteristics.

The same group is moving to do fractional ownership of single vacation houses in the East Cape of Baja area. We’ll probably look into that when they start selling those, but are pretty happy where we are with what we own.

You’ll never see these types of ownerships on the eBay type of resale market IMHO. They are nice, though, if you can swing the cost.

We own a fractional condo at a ski resort. It's a common model at ski resorts. We have a quarter share, 1 week every 4. We can also trade weeks into RCI and II, or rent them through our management company. We are very happy with it so far.

is that in the United States? If you feel comfortable message me the name I’m just curious how they work. thanks
