DESPERATE

Please, Please, Please....
What is the least financially harmful and/or financially beneficial way to get rid of a timeshare at Taino Beach Resort in the Bahamas?
If “desperate” is a word that can describe FBI investigations, my dead stepmother, a bucketload of scam artists, and my nine year old brother that relies on my ailing 70 year old father, then I am DESPERATE.
For a more detailed description, please read the following letter that I’m sending to Kimmie at Taino Beach resort:

Dear Kimmie,
My 70 year old father, ***** ***********, is a timeshare owner at Taino Beach, and I’m inquiring on his behalf if he can relinquish his timeshare ownership without having to pay any money or penalties.
My father has owned the timeshare for approximately ten years, but has never ONCE used it. My father is currently facing difficult financial hardship, and the timeshare has been a continued source of financial strain for him. In the past, he stopped paying his annual timeshare dues in an effort to “relinquish” ownership, but he was subsequently served with a notice from a collection agency that required him to pay his timeshare dues as well as a penalty.
As a result, my father, in an honest attempt to get rid of his timeshare, has spent thousands of dollars with fraudulent companies that claimed to offer services to sell his timeshare. To put this in a larger perspective, over the past ten years, my father has lost his entire life savings by being embezzled by con artists. Consequently, multiple FBI and state investigations were conducted on my father’s behalf that have resulted in numerous indictments, felonies, and prison sentences for these scam artists. Unfortunately, my father has a propensity to be targeted by unscrupulous criminals who continue to seek him out.
Currently, my father is in a lot of debt, yet he is the primary caregiver and financial provider for his nine year old son (my half brother). There are many tragic and stressful things that have happened to my family during the past two years. Less than two years ago, my father’s wife died. Additionally, my father’s health is failing, as he has recently suffered from two strokes, cancer, and a heart arrhythmia that required getting a pacemaker installed.
Please, I beseech you, tell us what we can do to get rid of the timeshare without having to pay any money. To say that we are desperate would be an understatement. The fact that my father feels “trapped” in a timeshare that continues to suck his wallet dry only creates stress that further impairs his health, while at the same time jeopardizes the well being of his nine year old son.
Please let us know what we can do. Thank you.
A very concerned and desperate son,
