I recently visited Orlando and was shocked to find out that cash is no longer an option on the 417 from MCO to HGVC. Plate Pass on a rental car is astronomical considering I only flow through on arrival and departure and dont have any tolls on the days in the middle.but still have to pay the daily.

I read (after the fact) that a toll pass can be reserved at MCO and picked up and returned and you only pay the drive through rate. This may be what I need to do, but it seems.like a hassle to pickup and drop-off on each rental. I go to Orlando several times per year.

Can I buy a Pass and keep it for each visit without it expiring. Id put it in a different rental car on each trip. The state where I live has no toll roads. Anyone have experience with transferring a toll Pass between multiple vehicles?

Yes. I just bought a SunPass transponder at Publix and use it on every trip. You just go into the app and register the license plate for your rental car.

If you go several times a year the Sun Pass is probably the way to go. I only go about 2x a year, so the Visitor Toll Pass works well for me. Either option is going to be way better than what a rental company offers.

The Sun Pass works in states that use EZ-Pass as well. We have used it in Ohio, Indiana, New York and Georgia. No annual fees, either.
