Hello Tuggers,
Please share your experience trading into The Colonies during summer, weeks 24-32.
I'm considering getting a resale timeshare at The Colonies at Williamsburg VA. The Estoppel says that I am guaranteed week 9 provided I reserve 12 months prior to check, and I have the option to get any other week in the year, based on availability, at 9 months prior to check in.
So my question is, how easy/hard is it to get a summer week at the colonies 9 months out?
I checked II and it shows no availability for exchanging this summer or next. But maybe that is due to to my timeshares not having enough trading power.
Any comments are welcome.

I am also interested to know more about this.
Do anyone own or have more information?
I have seen off season fixed weeks like 9-12 on ebay, but if they become floating at some point that would be a plus. Can someone confirm?

Jan - Feb weeks in Williamsburg are very low demand weeks. Summer weeks in Williamsburg are high demands weeks because Busch Garden and Water Country USA are open.

I think it is going to be difficult to float and get weeks and easy to float during the any of the non summer weeks. Unless a summer owner forgets to book during the allowed time, they are going to want to use a peak time either to occupy, to rent, or to deposit with II for exchange. For those that do forget or on a rare occasion want a shoulder time instead of summer, there will probably be 30-50% of all of the off season owners trying to get those few summer deposits.

A few months ago there were several summer months deposited in II for summer 2015. So II does get deposits.

I currently see lot of summer deposits using a non-deposited one bedroom sheraton broadway plantation gold plus.

I just booked into the Colonies at Williamsburg with II using a Vegas Polo Villas one bedroom suite deposit. I got a 2 bedroom, 2 bath exchange for July 11, but there was availability for many July dates as well.

The question was to float within the resort without using II. Using II getting a 2 br summer unit isn't going to be hard 4+ more in advance.
