I am traveling to Aruba from Logan airport on June 30. I am using American Airlines. The web site says to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure. Since my flight is at 7 AM, does anyone have information to confirm that the 3 hours prior is necessary. Thanks.

Actually, I think if you read the link carefully, you'll see that it's in Aruba that you should plan to be there three hours in advance to check in. At Logan, you should plan to arrive at least two hours in advance.

There has been some past discussion here suggesting that the three hours for departures from Aruba is good advice.

Thanks, Dave. I reread it a few times to try to understand it and still thought it meant from Logan. I knew that people recommended 3 hours from Aruba. Thanks again, 5:00 will be a little better than 4:00.

If I am leaving Aruba on a Friday, I heard that one only has to arrive 2 hours ahead of time, but for Saturday or Sunday departures, threee hours is recommended. Do you concur?

The airport in Aruba can be a mess (and that's an understatement) anytime. Although there is a good chance you'll be okay, my question to you is do you want to risk missing your flight for an additional hour in paradise?
