Just FYI westin lagunamar seems to have flea problem in rooms. Just annoying. Also, going to larger grocery worth it with chaper prices and cab driver waited. Round trip $34. Many don't realize baggers work for tips, not wages, keep in mind.

Like bedbugs, flees can be localized to each room. Perhaps there was a pet in the room prior to you? We've been multiple times and never noticed fleas in the room.

… more likely a “service animal.” Pets aren’t allowed….

;)

You may be correct.
I will be going back so let you know

Groceries would have to be a heck of a lot cheaper to warrant a $34 USD taxi ride.

If the larger grocery store is the Super Chedraui Selecto, it's only about 10 pesos to take the bus down there and 10 pesos back. That grocery store is a lot nicer than the Soriana; I'm not sure if it's cheaper but the selection is much better. We generally make a trip there every time we stay at Lagunamar; when the weather is nice we walk down (~45 minutes for 2 1/4 miles) and just take the bus back.

Some things are cheaper at Chedraui Selecto, some aren't. And they don't always get their discounts right. I have twice had to wrestle for 20-30 minutes with the staff at the corrections counter the get their posted prices on liquor honored. Seems posted prices and what the checkout counters know are sometimes 2 different things.

We were just at Lagunamar. There were no fleas in our room.

We don’t use the taxi “cartel.” 12 pesos on the bus, return via Uber to not have to drag many bags on the bus. Much cheaper than $34 USD.

Be sure to say hi to the timeshare hawks at the top of the escalators.

In one of our stays in Westin Lagunamar, there were bed bugs in which my friend got bitten. The resort paid for the medical fees which was on site. They then moved us to an Oceanside unit while they fumigate the room.

Uber is considerably cheaper. I took the bus in November and an Uber back. I think it was equal to about $9.

Bedbugs and fleas do not discriminate and can infest a room at the Ritz just as easily as at the Motel 6. Every property occasionally encounters these problems and so long as they deal with the situation promptly and effectively once they become aware of it, I’m not sure how anyone could expect much more.

Just got back from Lagunamar (my first time at the resort). Happy to report that I didn't encounter any fleas or bed bugs.

I did the walk to Soriana and took Uber back for about $7 for XL (5 in my party). Soriana had the basics that we needed. Papaya and Pineapple was very good. But check for expiration dates ... We bought frozen mochi ice cream that expired in June 2024 and it tasted bad.

We also took an Uber to Le Parque de la Palapas on a Saturday night for some local food. There were many vendors in the park selling churros, tacos, empanadas, tamales, frozen drinks... Other things I can't name. The prices were very low... $1.20 for a taco, $1.50 for a tamale. The Uber ride is around $20 (XL) but depends on traffic.

We had a great time.
