If you buy a floating week at the Westin Kaanapali, would you be able to get your desired week provided you booked 12 months out or booked early? My family can usually only travel during high season times i.e. school vacation times. I would hate to purchase a floating week and not be able to book during the summer months or Christmas break. I really do not wish to purchase a fixed week because I can't guarantee that I could travel that specific week all the time.

Thank you in advance for your replies. They will drive my decision as to purchasing a floating or fixed week.

If you call at 12 mos. out at 9 am EST, you should be able to get the week you want. I don't think any Starwood owner here on TUG has reported an inability to book their home resort at 12 mos.out. I think the only fixed weeks at WKORV/WKORVN are weeks 51 and 52, so you would only be able to reserve Xmas week if you bought that as a fixed week. Weeks 1-50 are all float.

You should have no problem getting a reservation and a good view, if you make your resv. as soon as the office opens at 12 mos. out - that's the earliest you can book at this resort.

For a premium you can buy a fixed week and a fixed unit, but it's not necessary unless you want the holidays every year.

Christmas and New Year's weeks are premium fixed weeks and only owners can reserve them.

Buy resale - they are running about 33% less than the original developer price - about $30K for a 2 Bdm. Ocean View.
