We have an exchange there this nov, unit #46. We are familiar with the area and did the exchange to do house shopping in the area for an anticipiated move next year. Curious if anyone knows the good/bad/ugly about this unit and FV itself. We had lunch and cocktails there a couple of years ago while staying with friends nearby and would probably not chose this as a "vacation" destination but it did work out well with our plans. Thanks.

We now snowbird and live in Port Charlotte (across the harbor from Punta Gorda) but 8 years ago we stayed at Fisherman's Village with two kids and my elderly father-in-law. we loved it. units have been renovated completely since then, after the 2004 Charlie hurricane destroyed so much. I have seen the "new" units. I believe they advertise as all two bedrooms but they sleep 8 people as they have a pull out couch and they have a third bedroom which is a loft. Hard for adults to climb up there. Kids would love it. But the resort has a pool, tennis courts on-site and Fisherman's Village has sight-seeing boat cruises which are very nice and I'm sure you saw the many shops and restaurants there.

We love living here in this area. I highly recommend it. So many things to do if you love the outdoors. most everyone we know in the kayak, bike groups, etc. agree with us that it's a wonderful place to live. And what a great time to buy. Good luck in your house search.

I also love living in this area . as far as fishermans village ,I have never stayed in the units but it is a nice place to grab something to eat , walk around , or take a boat tour from . if you come the end of november the christmas lights boat tour may be up and running by then .
