We are Marriott owners and now that Westin can be booked with Club Points we are going in Apri for the first time. Traveling with our son's family including 1yr old. I would think they have cribs and highchairs but wanted to know if anyone has used them.
Also are beach chairs free? Do they have kids pool? Any recommended transportation from / to the airport? Grocery store within a walking distance?
We booked a 2 bedroom and 1 bed room units. Are they pretty good about requests? Want these units close to each other.

Thank you ...any advice greatly appreciated!

Soriano grocery store is just a short walk to the south, in the Kukulcan Mall. We find it sufficient for our needs. There is also a liquor store about halfway there on the other side of the road, but they do have most liquors and wines at Soriano also. While the water is okay to drink on premises, you may want to buy some bottled water. It is cheap and you can have Soriano deliver your purchases if you tell them you want delivery before they start to ring up your order. Be sure to know your room number at Lagunamar and they also want a phone number. I usually just give my cell even though it often doesn't work in Mexico.

The resort will contact you ahead of time about transportation. They utilize The One. We have always booked with USA Transfers (www.usa-transfers.com). Their prices are about the same now. You should be fine making a request, the resort is very large, but they should be able to get you fairly close to each other.

For about $1.50 you can take a bus up to Chedraui Selecto for a much bigger selection of groceries, usually with lower prices than at Soriano.
Beware of the check-outs at Soriano. I bought 2 beers and they charged me for two 6-packs. I discovered this after getting back to Lagunamar. Returned the next day, and the Soriano manager refused to correct their mistake. So check your receipts before departing Soriana.

We have used the app multiple times….ordering from Costco and Selecto. Saves so much time and hassle…..even ordered a pizza from the food court! Lol

I also have had problems at Soriano. From overcharging to not being able to get a refund. Had a delivery and it did not include all items. Manage said it was my imagination. The people there are not helpful. The selection and quality are less than Chedraui. Stay away. This my experience and opinion.

The One is great transportation- we have use USA transfers also were okay, but went back to the ONE. There is a family pool with smaller kid pool and big slide. We usually walk to Soriano and take bus back with the groceries. Once when we had 10 staying at resort with us (4 villas) we had the transport from airport take us straight to Costco and then to Resort. (was about $75 extra- but well worth it for shopping/buying for large group. There are alot of restaurants across the street at the mall. Make sure when you are leaving airport- look straight ahead and no eye contact with all the people trying to stop you to talk to you. Enjoy your trip

+1 to the cornershop app by uber for grocery delivery. We used it when we were last at Lagunamar Jan 2022. We ordered from Costco for things we wanted in bulk and from Selecto for the smaller items. Even got a beer/wine/liquor through the app (and like @rudy even used it for Costco food court pizza one night :)). IMO easier and more convenient than doing the grocery shopping on your own.

So a question on Cornershop App - do you have to be geolocated in Cancun to order. We will be flying in tomorrow evening and would like to get stuff in process for shortly after we arrive.

I’ve punched in the Zip code for Lagunamar (77500) and it says there are no stores available.

Make sure you are logged in on the app. I just tried and was getting the same “no stores” message. I wasn’t logged in, so logged in using my Uber account and then the stores showed up for Cancun. We also loaded our online cart ahead of time and then just hit submit when we arrived at the resort. Have a great trip!

Fun starts tomorrow!

Hi, I am at the Lagunamar now and I have owned here for 10 years. I use USA Transfers every time good company and they have bigger vehicles for family’s. I pay around $50 return the bigger car maybe more but they are very good and have an app to use when you arrive. The supermarket I like is Selecto - Chederui down town. They have everything and a great fresh selection. Taxi there is around $250 pesos but I get the bus outside Lagunamar 24 pesos each and then get a cab back if I have lots of shopping. I also take supplies from home ( prices here have gone up) ie coffee (machines in room and the bigger unit has a massive fridge and good oven.
I also take herbs , salt , pepper, cling film , aluminium wrap, tea ( I’m English!) I really don’t like buying something and not using all of it! I’ve even bought olive oil etc.. but i love to cook and they have great a grilling bbq on site to use. There is a small grocery store on site basic but gets you through until you can get to the supermarket. Great sun loungers and three pools family friendly and a quieter one but all have kids and its cool. They are good about requests but I would start contacting them now. The two units together are great. Try and get building 9 but they are all lovely. It’s a fantastic location on the hotel zone and really nice and friendly hotel. Have fun.

Creative - we are also on site at Lagunamar (first visit) and I agree - the resort is fabulous. We haven’t tried the downtown area yet - but will head there on Thursday.

Please PM me if you’d like to say a quick hello in the next few days (we leave Sunday). We did a retro transaction with a voluntary unit at SDO, similar to what you have asked about in your other thread. Happy to share our experience on that.

Did you retro with Aventuras options? You will have to add to your profile now.
We are flying in on Thursday and out on Sunday. This will be our third time there. It would be nice to meet a fellow Tugger.

No. It was a Westin Flex purchase, but the process would be the same.

We’ll be around until Sunday. If you’d like to connect while here, please PM after you arrive.

I don’t really have much to compare it to, since this is our first visit, but it doesn’t seem too bad. The picture below is taken from our unit this evening.

Winds were quite high Saturday-Monday, so I think more seaweed was being pushed ashore - there was a lot more washed up on the previous days. They have been pretty aggressive in removing it.

We chartered a catamaran for a snorkeling excursion today - you could see some sargassum floating around in the open water but not huge swatches.

Could you share more about how much you paid to retro and how many weeks did you retro? Thank you!

The seaweed sitation seems to be worse now than those photos above. They try and clean it up but can't get all the way down to the water's edge with their tractor they are pulling the rake with. There are also large patches in the water. Not many people are swimming in the ocean and we only use the pools.

As for the Cornershop app, I can't seem to find it in the Apple App Store. When I try to click through to the App Store from their website, it just ends on a blank screen on mobile. When I go to the app store on my Mac it says it isn't available in my region. I was able to place an order through their website. I'll see if we actually get the order tomorrow morning...

Selecto had two floors of shopping. Produce, frozen, and more upstairs. Their awesome food court is up there as well. Great ceviche.
