With respect to IV, OV, OF, I no longer sweat it. I've been coming to Maui since before KOR was even built. I now come for several weeks at a time. I don't spend much time in the room. When I want views, I go to the beach and enjoy it there. Staying in the less sought after units means I hardly ever switch units during multi-week stays. Ground floor units at WKORV-N, which are mostly IV, let you walk right out the back to go wherever you want without having to be in the building hallways. If you have small children, you can be right by the pirate pool with the little ones. The view of the ponds in the middle courtyard is pleasant. IV tends to have plenty of availability.
I've stayed OF at WKORV-S, and find there's too much sun in the afternoon, sometimes having to close the curtains so the room doesn't get too hot in the summer. OV high floor, near the ocean, is less hot and still has good views. I would only truly hate the low floor units in bldg. 4 looking towards the parking lot. The Mountain Views in the high floors aren't too bad. I'd rather be happy in Maui in any of the various views, than being stuck in the mainland.
