Final exchange before closing II account

Hello,
I am giving back my Hyatt week, and will lose the II account associated with that week when the year expires (I am paid up until late January, 2026). If I exchange for a week with a checkin after the account closes, will I still be allowed to check in? Someone suggested I create a guest certificate to myself. Would that be the work-around? I am guessing I would not be able to use e-plus after the account closes? Has anyone dealt with this situation before and have advice? I am all booked up for 2025 and cannot use the exchange until next year, and my Hyatt points are already parked in II. TIA.

You might want to contact their social medial liaison.

In general, II requires you to be paid up through the completion of the exchange. If it is an account you pay directly, it usually won't even let you make an exchange past your mambership date unless you are also paying to extend the membership at least through the exchange date.

Have you already made the exchange?
The work around would be to pay for another membership year. You don't have to close the account immediately after transferring the week out of your account, unless it is a corporate II account, and then you would have to see if they would allow you to pay for another year to use up the deposit and/or exchange.

It's a Hyatt corp account. So I think it will allow for the exchange, but then the account could be closed once their week is transferred.

Yes, it's corporate account and I cannot extend past late January next year. I did email the tug liaison person, and will report back once I hear back.

Sometimes when people say Hyatt they mean Welk which also falls under the Hyatt umbrella but with different rules, so I wasn't sure and wanted to clarify if it was a corporate account.

When the same thing happens with a corporate Vistna account, you lose all access to II and the account is closed and your exchanges are cancelled as soon as II is notified that the unit has transferred out of your name if you don't have any other VOI's with Vistana. I don't believe they even hold it open through the end of your use year even though you paid the membership fee for the year.
