I am a recent member of HGVC owning a week at Hilton Craigendarroch. I have recently purchased a week at Fiesta Americana Cabo Del Sol. They are affliated to HGVC and my understanding is I can use my points with HGVC. Does anyone know however if I can add my Cabo points to my HGVC points so I have them combined or will I have to have 2 seperate accounts?
You will always have two separate accounts. You cannot combine the points, HGVC and FAVC just happen to have similar points programs that can book into each other's system. Your FAVC points are also limited in that you cannot book into W 57th St in New York or Valdoro Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge (and some affiliates).
Edit: The "affiliates" I mentioned above are the Grand Pacific properties in Carlsbad. Now that Marbrisa is an HGVC resort I should have added that along with W 57th and Valdoro as HGVC resorts one cannot book with FAVC at this time.
Fiesta Americana resorts are excellent, and the staff is generally very good to work with. They do stick by some frustrating rules, such as not being able to combine memberships when you own more than one timeshare, etc., but they have been very accomodating about reserving a unit in a particular location, etc. Someone posted a review of the Fiesta Americana Resort at Los Cabos on Jan 16, 2011. The review is titled "Beautiful, Relaxing Resort". All the comments are very favorable, but the rating of the review is "1". This person apparently misunderstood the rating system and thought "1" was the top rating instead of the worst rating. I have owned a timeshare at that resort for several years, and it continues to be a high quality resort, with excellent staff, beautiful grounds, and fine accomodations. I've been there once or twice each year since 2010, and it is an excellent resort.
