For those who have stayed at time shares/fractionals in Colorado, which are your favorite?

My personal favorite is Sheraton Steamboat, particularly the Morningside villas. But I've also enjoyed Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge and Sheraton Mountain Vista. Have yet to stay in Westin Riverfront but it looks like it would be a great stay. From what I've seen on TUG, there are a lot of great resorts in those mountains.

Some great Colorado resorts that our family really enjoyed:
Sheraton Steamboat
Marriott’s Mountain Valley Lodge
Hilton’s Valdoro Mountain Lodge
Grand Lodge @ Peak 7
Westin Riverfront
Hyatt Residences @ Mountain Lodge

We also like Park City!
Marriott’s Summit Watch
Marriott’s Mountainside
Hilton’s Sunrise Lodge

Wyndham Resort at Avon, all presidential units, fabulous interiors, the pool is not much, parking is $35 per day, per car, which is big turnoff, even for my kids
Club Wyndham Steamboat Springs
Club Wyndham Pagosa Springs
Club Wyndham Durango
WorldMark Estes Park (were just there last week, hard to get with WorldMark points, book at 13 months out)

Marriott anything, including Vail and Breck
Falcon Point is extremely nice
Hyatt, all of them, including Ranahan
Sheratons, even Lakeside Terrace is in the Sheraton system
Westin Riverfront is gorgeous, and I plan to grab a week next summer for us and the kids

Hilton has Valdoro, mixed reviews recently, which is odd because it's a beautiful place

Some independents are very nice, like Gold Point in Breck
Val Chatelle is a personal favorite, but it's small and pretty dated, we own four ski weeks
Pines at Meadow Ridge is actually very nice, it's in Winter Park. We own a late spring week with cheap MF's

Ski-in and out, Breck resorts already mentioned, Grand Timber, Peak 7 and Peak 8. Very high maintenance fees.

Durango has the train, which is fun.
Pagosa Springs is not a bad drive to Mesa Verde, oooh, I need to plan a trip to Mesa Verde!
Breck is fine, shopping, restaurants, expensive to eat and shop, however
Vail is the same as above, but hey, if you can get Westin via exchange, that would be terrific to stay there and shop at City Market for groceries.

These small towns don't have much in the way of fast food, but they do have some wonderful restaurants. Moose Jaw in Frisco has the best hamburgers anywhere.

We enjoyed the Sheraton in Steamboat, but if you exchange in you’re more likely to get one of the hotel conversions than the purpose built timeshare side. They’re VERY nice hotel conversions.
In Breckenridge we own at Grand Colorado on Peak 8, use to own at Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and have stayed at Mountain Valley Lodge, Grand Timber Lodge and Valdoro Mountain Lodge. All are great resorts but they don’t have AC if you’re staying in the summer months.

This is our third summer going back to Grand Lodge @ Peak 7 in Breckenridge with our various grands (ages 5-12). They love the pool, theater, games, gondola, panning for gold, Izak Heartstone, Main Street, etc.

Steamboat had a surprising amount of activities and it’s at a lower elevation, so not as much risk of altitude sickness.

Have you ever exchanged into a summer week at WRF? If so, Interval, Flex, or StarOptions?

I am hoping to exchange into the resort through II, hopefully adding a few nights at Wyndham Avon just to see it.

Hi, I just ended a 20 yr RTU contract from an affilliate Wyndham in Mexico. I used my Wyndham points and RCI to book at Vail, and often was able to book 3 night mid week stays in Avon at the Wyndham. I have gotten both 2 BR and 1 BE units all beautiful. Resort is a great location for walking and enjoying the area. Love the furniture/decorative item resale shop in Avon. Grocery, Drug store, liquor and multiple restaurants within walking distance from the resort. The bus stops in front of resort and has a stop at City Market so you can easily use the bus when you grocery shop. The spa at the Westin across the street gives you pool access all day if you book a spa appointment with them.
The parking is steep at $45/day. Sandy Johansen

I've stayed at:
Hyatt Residence at Main Street Station (Breck)
Marriott MtnValley Lodge (Breck)
Marriott StreamSide Vail (Douglas building)
Sheraton Mountain Vista Villas (Avon)
Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas (Avon)

I like them all for different reasons.

Breck will be my favorite for its Main Street where most stores stay open a little later than stores in Vail Village or Beaver Creek.

For amenities Westin Riverfront is the clear winner and the villas are beautiful. Westin has the best outdoor hot tubs and the other facilities look amazing (gym, spa, yoga).

Douglas at Vail is the only building with real wood burning fireplaces as far as I know and that is a treat. The shuttles to Vail Village run frequent enough and late enough that you really don't need to drive.

Sheraton is fine and probably my least favorite but I appreciate that the smallest unit is a 1BR with an in room washer dryer, which most other properties did not have for studios or even 1BR (Marriott StreamSide Douglas).

I'm already planning to return to Westin Riverfront next year!

Years ago we booked directly (rented a week) at Rams Horn in Estes Park. If we lived closer we probably would have bought a timeshare there. We loved it!

That one is very hard to get in summer. I will enter an ongoing request in RCI with my Wyndham points. We will see how that goes. Could be a bust.
