Hope it is okay that I keep this thread going instead of starting my own.

Just beginning a week in Palm Desert right now, and glad to find this thread giving me some ideas for new places to try. Tommy Bahama and Sherman's have always been musts here, but beyond that we are still trying to find some favourites worthy of a return trip.

That said, we are looking for a suggestion for steak. Doesn't have to be a steakhouse, if you know of a restaurant that does things right and has good cuts on the menu. Other than Morton's and Ruth's Chris, does anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks.
The La Quinta Cliffhouse is pretty good. They are in Indio. Good food, good service, good atmosphere.

Sibon is our favorite and we sometimes ate 3 meals a day there.
Great suggestion, thank you. We did end up going twice this trip, we had breakfast there yesterday and it was excellent. It was professionally decorated for the holidays, and their patio was heated which made it very comfortable to eat outdoors. All the servers were very good, I couldn't find a single thing to improve on.

The Cliff House is a special place.I don't think of it as Indio.
