I just confirmed a week for next March at the Fairfield Ocean Walk (resort ID#5998) in Daytona. We've stayed there several times and always enjoyed our stay. When looking today at the RCI resort directory I see that there's a WorldMark Ocean Walk (resort ID# 7734) with the same address at 300 N. Atlantic Ave. What's up with that? Anyone have the scoop?

Yeah, WorldMark owns floors 11 and 14 in the north tower. It's the same resort for use by WorldMark owners.

Remember, Trendwest and Fairfield are owned by the same company.... Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

Worldmark and Fairfield has at least a dozen resorts which they share. Some are run by WM and have some rooms which FF uses. And some are by run by FF and some rooms which WM uses. Sure seems like a good idea to me.

It is my understanding that the FF units have the better views. It is supposed to be an awesome resort no matter which room ya get.

I find it interesting that the FF resorts guide now show point values for many (all?) Worldmark resorts. That is a recent addition to the FF family using Fairshare Points.

We own and stay at Faifield Palm Ayre.

We are thinking of goint to another Florida location and Ocean Walk at Daytona looks great.

How does it compare to Bonnet Creek or Star Isalnd?

I've stayed at all 3 resorts you've asked about. Out of the 3, I would say that Bonnet Creek is by far our favorite. The room furnishings are very high end. And the floor plans are more creative. It seems FF spent more money at Bonnet Creek than Ocean Walk.

Ocean Walk is great, too. Art Deco style, great ocean views, terrific location. I would rank it a bit below Bonnet Creek (aside from location).

Star Island is way down on the rankings. It has nice grounds, but the room I had needed major updating. I liked it, but it doesn't compare to Bonnet Creek and Ocean Walk.

Really? Can you provide a listing of the resorts available?

Would for instance any of the following resorts be available:

Seaside, Depoe Bay, Beachcomber, Marina Dunes? If so, how many points for a summer 1 or 2 bedroom unit?

I'm not familiar enough with WM to know all the resorts. Now that you gave some names I do not see those on the FF list. Looking only at CA I do see Oceanside, Windsor and Palm Springs Tennis Club. Why those and not others are on the list is a mystery to me. Maybe they are in the process of combining the two systems? I may have missed it but I hadn't heard anything about any WM resorts being added to the FF family.

Whew! That's a relief. I thought there was a change. There has always been a good number of WM resorts available to FF owners.

Can't wait to see what happens when Wyndham Vacation Ownership is created.

We have decided to go with Bonnet Creek.

Booked MAy 5 to 12 and it was half the number of points for the deluxe 2BRM as prime time.
