Howdy! First time visiting Fairfield Glade and booked into a 2 Bedroom Deluxe (no lockoff) for late May. Website says those units are in Kensington Woods, Oak Knoll, Sterling Forest, Stonecastle, Wellington Place, Stonecastle Place.

Looking for updated unit, mountain views and super quiet meaning away from car noise/pools/nearby hospital, etc. Traveling solo so unit size differences don't matter to me.

What would you recommend I ask for? Are all buildings single story?

An avid hiker here so any trail recommendations also gladly accepted ;)

I don't recall the unit area location names, but some of them are 2 story, some of them not. We stayed there a long time ago, requested a 1 story unit by calling the resort directly, and was granted one. We also discussed having as little steps as possible in the unit. They put a metal ramp at the front door steps, and one in the unit to cover up the 2 or 3 steps that went into the living room. I don't recall any mountain views but I could be wrong. I would suggest calling the resort directly to get the info you're wondering about.

Fairfield Glade is not a "view" kind of place, at least not from a balcony or patio.

Noise should not be a problem, regardless of location within the resort.

Oak Knoll has a few steps entering the 2 bedroom units, but once inside it is a split foyer design. Entry level is the second bedroom, downstairs is the large master bedroom (huge jacuzzi tub with shower) and upstairs is the kitchen/living room. It has the largest living area and is the oldest of all the sections.

All other sections have smaller square footages, but tend to be more accessible (fewer steps). Most sections have some units with nice golf course views.

Kensington Woods, most of the units also have steps up to the unit and are split level like Oak Knoll. Kensington woods the bedrooms are the "entry" level and kitchen and living room are lower, you descend into the area. Some units you go the other way. It's split level, not 2 story, there is a difference. I think most, if not all of the various sections have this type of construction except the handicapped accessible units. None of the units I have seen there have any sort of "view" to speak of. Some may have a golf course view. Kensington Oaks does not, but it abutts up to the woods. There's a nice front and back porch. The back porch has nature views of the woods.

We are semi- local but closer to Nashville

as far as hiking goes it you get a good couple of DRY days pack a picnic and head over to Cummins Falls State Park -

Thanks everyone! I'm fine with stairs and split level. I'm just trying to avoid having a unit under somebody else where I will end up hearing them walking around above me as some reviewers on TripAdvisor have complained about.

I think Wellington is the only section of Fairfield Glade that is multi-story apartment/condo style units and not duplex-style single or split level units.

Kensington Oaks, Oak Knoll, Laurel Ridge (IMHO the worst/oldest units), Sterling Forest are all definitely duplexes

Thanks! What about Stonecastle?

Let us know how you like Fairfield Glade, we had plans to go there but postponed.

We used to love it,would go for spring break and golf every day an$ then do a little sightseeing

FYI - when I called the resort this weekend to give my location preferences, I learned that the Stonecastle units are closed off for refurbishment. They didn't give a time line.
