We are booked in for the first week of July - four adults, two boys {7 & 9}. Should we request a certain area? What do you recommend that we see? Is there internet access? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

We were at this resort last June. We had our three children with us ages 6, 13 and 15. (a year younger then). We didn't request a specific room but we were very happy with our unit. One thing I do remember is that my kids enjoyed the activities at the resort. They had movies with free popcorn and a cooking activity where they made cupcakes. The pool is nice, an indoor/outdoor type. It was small but if I remember correctly there was a separate adult pool so it kept everyone happy. Also they loved visiting the Norman Rockwell museum. If you have time to fit that in your schedule I would really recommend it. If you go, rent the audio tours, they have special ones for the kids and the stories about his paintings are very interesting. For instance, he would pay the neighborhood kids to pose, like a quarter or something. But anyway, it held their interest which is unusual for an art museum. We also did geocaching (using a handheld GPS to find "treasures"). I can't remember about the internet access. Cell phone coverage is not good at the resort.

Be sure to visit Natural Bridge State Park in North Adams, about 15 miles away.

Also Hickory Bill's BBQ in North Adams is excellent.

As I recall, there is an AOL dial up number for Hancock, MA. If there is no charge for local calls, you could get internet access from a laptop in your room.

Cell phone coverage is very bad on the mountains but it is better along the roads in the nearby valleys.

The view from Mt. Greylock is very nice. There's a long auto road to the top and also hiking trails, including the Appalachian trail, on the mountain.

If you and your kids enjoy art, the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown is very good.
