Haven’t been on a toll road in many years so this one was easy to report as junk. Never had FB or Amazon so those are easy junkers too. Lots of PayPal stuff, too, but been at least a decade since I used PayPal, so…

there are benefits to not being part of modern stuff “everyone uses”.

Luckily, my new long distance boyfriend will come visit me as soon as I send $10k in gift cards so he can fly from his palace in Nigeria and help me with harder to detect scams.

I got one today also. I have a Sunpass that I have only used in Florida and have it set to autopay. I reported it as junk and warned DW & DD about it.

We got one recently indicating our EZ Pass incurred fees in Canada. We did have to refresh our memory but the last time we drove in Canada was June 2023! Scam!
We dont have any EZPass toll roads in Canada that I know of. We can use our EZPass to pay the toll on the bridge to cross from NY State into Ontario, but that's it. The toll road (Hwy 407) across the top of Toronto has it's own transponders (or pay by plate) and the EZPass doesn't work on that.

Didn't think about that-just knew we hadn't visited by car since June 2023. We did get discovered a decade ago for thinking our EZPass would work on the 407 so paid that fine.
Most recently France tracked us down for a small section of ETR heading to Sarlat-la-Caneda from Fontainebleau. Our fine was under a euro!

Yes, EZPass only operates in the USA.

I did receive a similar scam email in the last two weeks saying that I had an outstanding balance for the 407-ETR with a link to pay. I knew it was a scam, since the email address was not the official one for the 407-ETR. Also, I do have a 407-ETR account, but it is set up on autopay, so there is no way it could be in arrears.

In the last two weeks, I have received a sudden blitz of similar scam texts from all sorts of "merchants" (e.g. purportedly from Amazon, PayPal, etc.). Normally my spam filter does a pretty decent job, but occasionally these type of blitzes do get through. I find if I report them as spam, not only do they automatically go on the blocked list, but the spam filter seems to learn from it, so it's worth the one extra click to report.

This scam has the appearance of a nationwide scam message and that is not good.IMO.
