Got a call from a company (Grand Vacations I think they said) telling me I am entitled to unlimited Extra Holidays weeks each year for $408, and if I pay this and give them to this company they will guarantee me $1200-$1600 per week, as they use them for promotions to bring in new owners. Anyone ever heard of this? I never have.

I’ve heard of it. It’s a very well-known scam. It has been written about extensively on these forums. Don’t take their phone calls.

Got the same call. Nope, sorry, not interested. Click.

Simple: if they call you, they are a scam. THAT is what you will find all over this site
:hi:
Also anyone charging anything upfront in the timeshare world for a promise of a later greater payment is also a scam. If a deal like this existed (it doesn’t) then they could just take their cut/commission out of the profits.

My thoughts too, I'd just never heard of this particular one. If they can get that much money for them, why do I need to pay anything first? thanks again for your thoughts.

They will say you have bonus weeks or extra vacations weeks or getaway weeks (you don't have any free weeks and the weeks you can pay to get from RCI aren't weeks you are allowed to rent out). They say they can rent these weeks (that you didn't know you had) for a guaranteed amount, you just have to pay a $299-$399 (per week) marketing fee, or activation fee or some other such made up fee for your made up weeks and then you give them the money and that is the end of it. If they can string you along for more money, they will if hot they will change their number and name and start over and maybe sell your info to other scam groups as you were an easy mark.

@feliciatd
These scammer companies change their name constantly, that's why there is no "list".
If ANYONE calls you out of the blue and mentions an offer about "timeshare" IT IS A SCAM.

There is no legitimate company that will cold call you about timeshare.

Resort Closings Inc out of Bozeman, MT does maintain a scam list database. I don't see "Grand Vacations" on their list. Notice how this company also uses a name that is similar to another in the industry. That is also quite common.
