Extra Holidays Evolving Towards Vacation Share

Extra Holidays Evolving Towards Vacation Share

I have had mixed experiences with both Extra Holidays and Vacation Share
In late 2024, I settled on using Extra Holidays because I valued having a "live" person who can update and cancel reservations in a timely manner
From my personal experience Vacation Share was not efficient
Online requests were made and the follow up was about 2 week-ish, sometimes not receiving any response at all
From a rental perspective, that is horrible when reservations need to be canceled before 15 days to get points refunded

Late last week, Extra Holiday's had a voice message saying there were updating their phone systems and to call be the following week
When I spoke to an Extra Holiday's representative, the following was shared:
Extra Holiday will be evolving towards Vacation Share
Moving forward all reservations will be handled through Vacation Share
Extra Holiday support will be near term and phase out
Reservations will be handled by Vacation Share through a 3rd party support company

Overall, I am not happy and have concerns about this change
Among my many lessons learned about timeshare, is how difficult it is to communicate with contacts who know and understand the product
I feel that Vacation Share will be just drones who follow the script
Results and execution will be "process driven" and rely on faith in the process
I currently do not have faith in the process and regretfully do not foresee it getting better
I have my finders crossed they will prove me wrong
