Hello, I would like to string together several timeshare weeks in Orlando in Jan-Feb. Was thinking about using II Getaways and it seems Westgate Palace or Westgate Lakes has the availability I'm looking for. Never stayed there. We own a Marriott so usually stay at Grande Vista, but for the same price, I can get a 2br at Westgate, instead of a studio. Anyone know if and how much they charge non owners of Westgate for internet, parking, resort fee? Any other extra fees? I know at Grande vista, that would all be free, so I just want to compare apples to apples, cost wise. Thank you for any insight

We've done two getaways into Westgate resorts in Orlando. There are no additional fees for parking, wifi or resort fees.

There will be fees for use of the waterpark at Westgate Lakes. You can save about 20% on that by signing up for WOW (World of Westgate), which is free.

I do have a video playlist of a few Westgate resorts in Orlando which, in one of the videos, I discuss our experience going to Westgate resorts for the first time.

I have a friend who is staying using one of my getaway weeks (guest certificate) in orlando at a Westgate and he confirms no extra fees.

My understanding is that hotel based bookings (through Westgate or elsewhere) have resort fees. Timeshare based reservations, like home resort or II exchange/getaways, do not.

The resorts are fine, just avoid the sales pitch.
How was the crowd? I watched your videos and the accommodations seem halfway decent but I’ve read horror stories about noisy and rowdy people and relatively thin walls.

Yes, we could hear the people next to us. The biggest issue was a shared vestibule between each side of the lock off and the vestibule having marble floors. Lots of echo. We didn't really use the pools, but they did look busy. None of this is really any different than Grande Vista.

I haven't stayed at the Orlando Westagtes- but did stay at the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg and it was awesome. The unit was great, the property was great, and the location was among the best of any timeshare in the area. Extremely close to the National Park area and the town of Gatlinburg itself. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
