I have read the stickies but still have some questions PLEASE.

I have a Harborside rental that I cant use this year. IF I cant rent my week, what is my best option... depositing into SVO or II?

In exchange for my Harborside week, I want somewhere in Disney week 44 in 2009.

Can I deposit in 2008 and get a 2009 week?

thanks for any help you can give!

Is this your week or via SVN exchange?

When you make your deposit request with II (if you are able to deposit) tell them what you are trading for DVC. You should be able to get your request with no problem, especially depositing so far out.

This is a week that I own (or will own as soon as deed recorded). the deed is being sent to the Bahamas attorney by the end of this week. How long can I wait to deposit it (and get the trade I want)?

thanks!

You can deposit it once your deed is transfered and II can verify your ownership with your resort.

Starwood picks and chooses the week it will deposit into II.

When is your week reserved?

You have up to 60 days out from check-in to cancel the reservation with no penalty. Your Staroptions will have to be used this year, March 31st was the deadline to convert to starpoints. You can not carry the Staroptions over into 2009. Looks like you will have to deposit into II.

This process will take 1-2 weeks for Starwood and II to get yo uin thier systems. It will help if you call them and walk the process thru with them.

Yes, more then likely your deposit will not be a Harborside unit. (Almost 100% sure of that). Just make sure you are specific about your request.... DVC resort, what week, how many rooms.

Keep in mind that BCV and BWV will be the hardest to get at that time period, with the Food and Wine festival over at Epcot.

They won't necessarily deposit your own week into your II account, but you will get something. Just watch to make sure that whatever week they give you is at least equal in trading quality to the one you own. You may have to be a bit of a nudge with them about it...

What if you have a week already reserved, is this week not the one deposited? Seems extrordinarily unfair, if owned week is in maui and deposited week in summer in Orlando??
Can you do this by yourself if you have a week reserved? if not into II, then to, e.g., SFX

you are at the mercy of svn, they can deposit whatever any week, any location on your behalf. all the information is in the stickies above and you should read to become familiar with the procedures. so yes you can have summer in maui and have summer in orlando deposited for you

Some have reported that they have fought Starwood on this and have limited success. I have not had my actual weeks deposited, but I did have success getting a week deposited from my resort, in my season.

You can deposit any week you own with an independent exchange Co., because Starwood does not control that, but Starwood is contracted with II and if you are depositing a week that's part of the SVN, you have to go through Starwood to have it deposited. YMMV....

See the Owner Resources Sticky for an Article about Starwood & II and the FAQ, at the top of the board for more info.
