Exchanging into II (Starwood)

Noob question - I'm sure this is on the site somewhere or been asked before but I could not seem to find it.

I own at Harborside and want to exchange my 2008 week into II. I know Starwood will randomly pick a week to deposit into II but my question is, once the exchange is made into II, how long do I have to use the deposited week? I already have my vacation plans set for 2008 so I'm hoping I can exchange this week for something in 2009 eventually. Thanks for the help.
 
You should have 2 yrs from the use date of the deposited week. So your deposited 2008 week will have until sometime in 2010, depending on the deposit.
 
As much as I wish that I could see exchanges into harbourside on II, isn't that a waste of your week? I would think you would do much better by either renting your week or using one of the small exchange systems like SFX.

I have to agree with Gary. As much as I would like to see a Harborside deposited, Your TS week is one of the most valuable.

You may wish to see if you can rent or do a direct exchange with someone.
 
Welcome! Did you know you can exchange your TS with Starwood's Internal Exchange system? It would probably rent for twice the MF too... Frankly, I would never deposit it into II, because it is very unlikely that you will ever get equal value back in exchange.

Just so you know, most of the Starwood Owners and posts are on the Hotel Based Timeshare on TUG. For lots of info. and a friendly group of owners, I hope you'll join us HERE.
