I have just found out that there is an RV site you could exchange for. I have never heard of this before. As it is Easter Sunday, I cannot call RCI. DOes anyone on this forum know of any or recommend any exchange for campground space or RV resort?

There is an outfit called Thousand Trails that is a sort of timeshare for RV resort/spaces.

There is nothing like this available through RCI. I think what you heard about is for someone who has a membership at a specific RV site to exchange for a different RV site, not to exchange timeshares for an RV site.

There are a handful of resorts that have RV spots also. One that comes to mind is Sedona Pines. Most timeshare won't even allow RV parking and definitely don't have RV spots for rent.

There are also timeshare-eque RV programs like Coast to Coast and Thousand Trails. Those you pay a membership fee for discounted rates and some free stays.

I know of no exchange for campground sites.

There is Wilderness Presidential Resort in Chancellorsville. It is home to Presidential Resort At Chancellorsville RCI #1932, which are somewhat rustic cabins where people own weeks and the units trade on RCI (and are affiliated with Vacation Village/Massanutten).

There is a huge campground there. I do not know the details but there are owners that own lots in the campground and people that have deeds that guarantee so many nights of usage. I have been curious about how that works, but it appears exiting from camping spot ownership might be something even harder to get out of than a deeded timeshare week.

I remember this from years ago. They also had houseboats at one time. Its been more than a decade though.

I saw a commercial for Outdoorsy yesterday. It appears to be the airBnB for RV owners/renters. (I know nothing else about it.)

Just found this site after reading this post. https://travelresorts.com/camping/
Like alot of families during the pandemic, I started looking into camping. It will probably be more of these to start in the next couple of years.

I hope this starts to equate in to people realizing that there’s more out there ( literally ) than being indoors all the time

2 of our Blue Green resorts have camping area's at the resort: Wisconsin Dells and Shenandoah crossing. Not sure if those campsite are available through an RCI exchange though. :ponder:
