The City of New Westminster named a field after Justin Morneau just a few miles from where I live.

If this list included players from up to 30 years ago, would the one for the Yankees have been Wade Boggs?

We've been fortunate to have some of the best first basemen in Cincinnati during my lifetime. Ted Kluscewski, Tony Perez, and Joey Votto.

I would argue Tino Martinez over Boggs.

In 5 years with the Yankees, Boggs hit .313 with 24 HRs, 246 RBIs and no WS. In his first year with the Yankees, he didn’t even play 1B.

In 7 years with the Yankees, Martinez hit .276 with 192 HRs, 739 RBIs and four WS rings.

I would even put Mark Teixeira ahead of Boggs.

In 8 years with the Yankees, Teixeira hit .248 with 206 HRs, 662 RBIs and one WS ring.
