Thanks for posting this. I also stayed in a small hotel in Bloomsbury in London, and it was under a hundred dollars and also included breakfast (can't recall the name of it right now.) Bloomsbury has lots of nice little hotels and the location can't be beat!

Thanks for sharing, Richard!

Several years ago we found this site (EuroCheapo), and booked our stay at Hotel Dali in Florence because of it - I see it's one of these Top 10. It was perfect!

Some of the locations of the others that I can identify here might not be my first choice - it can be hard to tell in advance - but the one in Florence couldn't have been been more excellent.

Glad the site's back up and running - hmm, Amsterdam... Lisbon... :)

Loved the list and am keeping it. Thanks !

May I add a personal favorite ? It's in London, Kensington, includes full English breakfast. A couple blocks from the Tube. Great, safe area. Great rates, too !

Make sure you get a room with private bath. It's sort of a cross between a hotel and B&B.

A little pricier, but not pricey for London........with a free breakfast buffet and very new (Blackfriar's) http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re..._Blackfriars_Fleet_Street-London_England.html A basic, Premiere hotel (chain). Nothing fancy, but clean, safe and convenient location. If you're looking for quaint or with ammenities, this isn't it. But, for reasonable and no frills, consider a Premiere hotel.

Hotel Diana (fabulous location +a/c & lift) on Rue St. Jacques in Paris' Latin Quarter and Hotel Palazzo Zichy (all the amenities of a 4-5* imho) in Budapest are both under 100 euro/night in prime tourist season.

That looks like a lovely hotel! Wish I had known about it when I visited Budapest. I stayed at a Marriott, but I got to use up points and had a nice enough city view from my window...so not complaining really. But the Zichy looks magnificent and worth a try if I ever go back.
