Hi I am looking to buy DH an espresso machine. Are there any models/brands that you all recommend. Macy's has a 40% off sale and I hope to find one and take advantage of the discount. Thanks

If you want to spend a lot less, I'd suggest you buy a separate bean grinder and try the Capresso $80 model.

Whatever you buy, it should be pump driven (not steam). 15 bars pressure or more. A large enough reservoir to make more than a few cups. It should be able to push water through the grounds and steam out the nozzle (for cappuccino or hot milk) at the same time so you aren't just making one drink at a time.

I can't say I'm a power user, but my Capresso brand has served me well.

Look for more metal parts than plastic.

Buy good ground espresso (I like Illy) or grind it extra fine yourself.

Thank you for the suggestions and advice. We actually do have a coffee grinder and Illy as well as Lavazza are two coffee brands we like. The other brands a friend sends us from Colombia or Venezuela.
