EPlus Quirk or is this normal

So I reserved a week on Oahu and used the Eplus. I used one of the 3 retrades and have been waiting to add my son via a guest certificate until I was sure that I was going to stick with this week. Well Check-in is tomorrow and no Marriotts have shown up so I went to to the guest certificate and when I did, it said I was using retrade 2 of 3. It doesn't really matter because check-in is tomorrow but it seems really strange that it would say I was using a retrade just to add a guest certificate.

Anyone else ever have this happen? It did not do it on the week I have for Maui in a week. Is it because it is so close?

Are you sure you pressed the Guest Certificate link? The e-plus link is directly above it, and it would be easy, especially on a phone, to press the e-plus when aiming for the GC link.
The 2nd e-plus should not have been used when you purchased a GC. One has nothing to do with the other.

Yes I definitely just did guest certificate. When I go back in to look at the history, it still shows 2 of 3 trades remaining so it is just a glitch...but what I didn't know is that you can't use the eplus wthin 24 hrs of check in. So if a Marriott shows up tomorrow....I can't retrade anyways but I will still try
