Hi All,
I am trying to decipher Mvci policy regarding dc points from elected weeks in the wake of covid. I bought a week from Marriott in 2019 with first UY AS 2020. I got bonus points for signing that would have expired in 2020 which I see are extended to 2021. But the 2020 points I got for electing expire in December of 2020 and apparently I am now too late to roll them into next year.

cancellation policy seems to pont that if I had a reservation for anytime in 2020 and cancelled it the 2020 points would be extended to 2021. Am I missing something here?

No you have it right.
Make a reservation with your 2020 points and cancel it less than 60 days from check in and the points will be put in a holding account to expire 12/31/21- but they will be restricted to booking 120 days in advance. Better than wasting them.
