Engraving for watch for 16th birthday

We just got a special watch for our son's 16th birthday in a few weeks (a sweeeeet Swiss Army watch and he is THRILLED!). Now we want to engrave the back and we're coming up blank! :confused:
All you creative sorts, help me out with some ideas!

(He's a big reader, loves travelling, not into athletics much, the academic sort)
 
Does he have a nickname that only you call him? Not something embarrassing but something that is special between him and you?

You can google for quotes on time and perhaps find one that fits but I think it would be more special if it came from your heart.

You could etch the time of his birth as a special moment in the time you have spent on earth.
 
We didn't get a watch for son's 16th but did get him an ipod. Engraved:

Proud of you. (heart) mom & dad
 
Thanks! We liked the time of his birth idea, :cheer: so the store is engraving his initials and the date and time of his birth and ......gosh, something else that my hubby came up with like "It's your time!"

Hmmmm, maybe a good idea would have been "Hope you have the time of your life!" (think Green Day)?

That's what I would have said - initials and birthdate - and adding the time and expression are good too.

I like that he's thrilled with a watch; so many kids don't wear them any more because they use their cells instead. Question: is this a digital display, or the traditional type? (What's the traditional round-clock-face called?)
 
It's a Swiss Army chronograph! (guess it's not just "a watch"!) :D
Regular face. Nice leather band. Absolutely beautiful. He loves it to pieces!
