Hi all,

My family would love to go to HGVC Whistler this winter for a weekend. May potentially be interested in buying enough points to do a weekend there every year? Their maintenance fees are a bit steep IMO so I'm unsure about this....Also unsure how difficult it is to book a ski weekend, especially since this is the only location we would be interested in. From looking at past threads this may seem to be the case.

Anyone know of any buy sell groups for owners of the old embarc properties? Or anyone an owner and willing to rent a weekend? We do have weeks in March/April/easter weekend at the Aspens (Whiski Jack ski in ski out) that we would be willing to trade (we are unavailable for these weeks) if anyone interested. I suppose I will make a listing in the marketplace in tug too but I don't think there are too many owners here....

Embarc whistler is difficult to get ski weekends for. Booking for 6 nights or more opens at the 11 month mark and from what I can tell the winter rooms book out. At the 6 month mark you can book less than 6 nights. There are 2 Facebook groups that embarc members can buy, sell, rent their rooms or points and discuss any current issues with the club. The one issue is they only allow embarc members to join. I politely asked Chantal Desjardins if I could join before I bought points and I was allowed. Points seem to be selling between $20 -$30 Canadian but of course I don't know exactly what they sold for. I picked up my 120 point membership for free about 1.5 years ago. All I paid was the transfer fee.

Embarc like many timeshares makes weekends way more expensive so I find the cost quite prohibitive for only 2-3 days on the weekend. Even I would likely check out airbnb for price comparisons. I have stayed at 2 resorts so far Vancouver and Ucluelet. Both were exceptional. Even though Ucluelet only has 10 rooms I got exactly what I wanted by booking at the 11 month mark. Also they don't have a waitlist system so if you check regularly sometimes you can pick up a prime reservation that someone had to cancel. Hope this helps contact me for any more details.

There is a new private Facebook group for Embarc-HGVC Owners do conduct direct exchanges. Embarc owners also rent out their points and you might find a match there if you want "try before you buy.

Look for Embarc-Hilton Exchange Group.

Chantal posted on the embarc Facebook group someone looking to either buy points or rent/trade for a week at WHistler. I am assuming this was for the original poster. Hope you get an offer.
