Dear Shell Vacations Club Member,

It’s been more than a year since Shell Vacations Club was welcomed into the Wyndham family. We are pleased to unveil a program that is among the first of many exciting benefits for our Shell Vacations Club members. Our goal is to ensure you get the most out of your membership and Signature - our newly enhanced SVC Elite program - can take your ownership to the next level.

And, as a valued Shell Vacations Club member, we want to make sure you have an opportunity to live Life your way, by taking dream vacations, spending quality time with friends and family and exploring the many resort locations and destinations made available to you through your ownership. Becoming an exclusive Signature member means you make vacations a priority. Additional tiers have been added to the enhanced program - including a more accessible entry point - as well as new and exciting benefits, including advanced unit upgrades and tiered points discount on inventory, among others. Below is a chart outlining the new Signature tiers based on points level.

Signature Tier Point Level
Signature Choice
7,000 - 13,999

Signature Elite
14,000 - 24,999

Signature Prestige
25,000+

While you may now be Signature eligible based on the number of points owned, this exciting benefit program is optional. For more information, simply visit your Guest Guide during your next resort stay.

We are honored to have you as a member of the Shell Vacations family. Our goal is to provide you with a memorable vacation experience and we hope the new upgrades to the Signature program will exceed your expectations.

Be on the lookout for more information in the upcoming edition of Directions magazine and visit ShellVacationsClub.com today to learn how you can live Life your way.

Sincerely,

Shell Vacations Club

Sounds similar to WM travelshare. Being optional, I'm sure there are extra fees to be able to pay more fees to convert points to something.

That's what I figured too. My questions are: 1) would previous resales be eligible if bought before the Wyndham buyout, 2) what would really be the actual benefits if any, and 3) how much will the fee be to convert your account to this "option"?

Knowing Wyndham, it will be too high for whatever you may get out of it. But they may consider grandfathering some people just to grab as much $$ as possible, we know they are a greedy bunch.

From Shell's Member site:
The Signature Program (formerly SVC Elite) is available to members who have 7,000 or more eligible SVC Points. In recognition of your membership status, you receive exclusive benefits, enhanced service and additional travel options.

We have enhanced the program to better convey the exclusivity of our Signature Members and to create better visibility for you, our most valuable members. We hope you enjoy the new look, benefits and advantages of being a Signature Member.

Please note that on April 2, 2014 the Signature Program (formerly SVC Elite) tier levels changed. If you were an SVC Elite Member prior to this date your benefits have been grandfathered in regardless of your new tier level.

Benefits from lowest tier to highest:

20% Points Discount on Inventory
Within 30 days of check-in date
Within 45 days of check-in date
Within 60 days of check-in date

Advanced Resort Unit Upgrades
2 (per year) within 30 days of check-in date
4 (per year) within 45 days of check-in date
6 (per year) within 60 days of check-in date

Additional Days of Free Shell Transaction Fees
1 additional day
2 additional days
Unlimited

Those seem to be the most important ones. There are a ton of other little ones like late check out, free local calls, access to the other point conversion options, etc. You would have to log on to the member site, they are in a chart that doesn't copy and paste well.

Those benefits don't seem worth it to me.

I would like to be able to use as many of next year's points as I want. They now limit members to one borrow transaction from the next use year.

I don't see anything about unlimited housekeeping for those high levels of Elite.

Just went back and looked at that page, nothing about borrowing points, but for housekeeping it says this:

Complimentary Housekeeping (Upon Request) at SVC managed locations - Signature Prestige level only

Were re-sales eligible prior to Wyndham taking over?

Were re-sales eligible prior to Wyndham taking over?

No, and from my conversation with a customer service agent, they are not eligible for Signature.

I think not, but as with Wyndham, I think the answer is it depends. Depending on how the account was coded.
