Just got a letter today saying my favorite little Electrolux Pronto 2-in-1 vacuum is being recalled. I got it at Costco last fall and I love it for tile floors. They'll replace the handheld part and will send me a box and shipping label to return it.

It's the kind that has a long handle that fits into a docking station that you plug into the wall so that it's recharged and ready when needed. The problem is with the rechargeable battery cells that have exploded on some vacuums.

If you have one and haven't gotten a letter about it yet, you can call
1-800-932-1778 and they can tell you if the model you have is being recalled.

Oh, great ... I left mine plugged in at our weekend place for the first time! It usually lives in our RV and is only charged when needed. I had used it heavily this past weekend so left it in the house charging until we return. Now I have something to worry about ...

I don't understand. If the vacuum sucks, why are they recalling it? Isn't a vacuum supposed to suck??

I suppose that if it doesn't suck it must blow, since blow is the opposite of suck. Bit if it blows then it can't be a vacuum.

So I guess that's it. They're recalling the vacuum not because it sucks, but because it blows.

Thanks, Steve!

I have one of those from Costco also. I have not received a letter, so thanks for the heads up.
