eBay listing question - Grand Vista 2br Platinum

Hello everyone, there is currently an eBay listing for a 2br platinum grand vista from timeshare warehouse that is ending in an hour. I don’t see anything wrong with it, annual, platinum, usage 2021, seller is pretty decent, maint fees look right... but only 1 bid for $1. I’ve been following all other marriott eBay listings and can tell when something is really good because there are 50+ bids. And the less desirable ones (gold season, usage in 2022, bad seller, etc) don’t get any bids on it. Am I missing some red flags that only you seasoned Tuggers are seeing that I’m not??

Most bids come inside of the last few minutes.

That one has a lot of closing costs

But the closing costs were only $99 + $25 resort transfer fee + $1486 for 2021 maint fees reimbursement.

Well, it’s too late now. And thank you for the quick replies. I pulled the trigger. In the last 15 mins, I searched and read every single post about timeshare_warehouse. There were some pretty bad reviews of them from 10 years ago, but some recent purchases from active members on tugg who said good things. Looks like the closing company is Lakeside Closing Services. I went to bbb and they got phenomenal reviews. I’m going to cross my fingers here and hope I didn’t make a horrible mistake. I’ve been waiting and searching for grand vista 2br platinum with brokers and contacting sellers on redweek as well but nothing under $2000 so I hope this $1.25 bid was the right decision. Will update as I go through the process!

Don't be fooled by any listings by Timeshare Warehouse. Most of their feedback is from the purchase or sale of inexpensive crap; nothing to do with Timeshare transactions.

Also, winners of their auctions may have to wait three months or longer to have the deed transferred. Since you're paying for 2021 use I don't think one really want to wait until May or June to be able to make a reservation for 2021 use.

Another warning; WHY do they hide the bidders? Notice the bidding activity history: "Private Listing - Bidders Identity Protected". Are they hiding shill bidding activity?

.

Orlando timeshares are usually cheap, nothing suspect about $1 selling price. I bought from this seller before, they delivered as advertised.

So I just wanted to share a quick update on this purchase. I know Timeshare Warehouse/Lakeside Closing Service has gotten a bad rap on other threads (many of the posts are quite old at this point), and I can honestly say that I had a great experience with them. Everything was done efficiently and Cameron at Lakeside Closing Service, was very responsive and gave me frequent updates. This was my first ebay resale purchase, and I was a bit nervous, but it could not have gone better. Thank you to all of the TUG members who helped me (especially MVCOwner!) with all of my questions and giving me great advice and guidance. Bought my first $1(.25) timeshare!

1/24 - Won ebay auction, $1.25 bid
1/25 - Estoppel received
1/25 - Sent payment $1.25 bid + $99 closing costs + 2021 maintenance fee $1486.21 + Resort Transfer fee $25 = $1611.46
1/26 - signed contract, submitted to Marriott
2/20 - Marriott waived ROFR
2/25 - Deed recorded with county
3/15 - Signed new External Transfer for Marriott, Deed received
3/30 - pending transfer confirmation
4/19 - Transfer completed! MVCI sent owner number and able to set up online account
4/20 - Called owner services, locked off units $90 and booked 2 reservations
4/21 - Interval membership set up and reservations deposited into Interval
4/22 - Ready to trade!

Marriott waived ROFR on a 2BR GV platinum at $1.25? That is pretty shocking and nice pickup.

Did you get the Waver doc from MVCI and it showed $1.25 as Lakeside closing fudges numbers sometimes !!!!.
Possible that ROFR was submitted with 1611.46. Some ebayers tend to also include the fee that was paid to them as part of the exit scheme, which could make the amount much higher.
