One of the reasons I got RCI resorts is because I could get DVC. Now it is in Interval International. A lady that I talked to at RCI said that Disney switches back and forth between vacation exchange networks. What has been the history, timeframe, of Disney switching?

10 years and the switch to II just happened a year or so ago, so it's likely a long wait.

This thread will answer the question from January 2009:

RCI won't get Disney back for a while. The dates haven't worked well for me anyway.

I highly recommend buying a good trader that will also work for RCI, when DVC switches back in 12-15 years.

I have two dual enrollment resorts that I currently have in RCI. I think that I would like to move at least one to Interval but not sure how.

You own the resort so it can be registered on whatever exchange service you want. I don't know if you're an II member now, but I have been for a while but never registered one of my ownerships on II.

Here's what I was told two days ago about adding another resort to my II account:

The person gave me two options (1) you get all the information about your resort ownership including week, size of unit, owner ID number, etc., give II that info, and pay $39 or (2) they'll waive the $39 if I add another year to my membership or upgrade my membership to Platinum.

So I'm assuming, but I don't know for sure, that you might be able to register the ownership for free if you become a new member. Maybe.

In any case, II would be the one(s) to answer that question.

Call 800-828-8200 and ask about enrolling your week. You just have to pay an annual fee to join II, they verify your ownership, and you are all set. Takes a few days, but if Disney is your goal, you can sure do it.

I have one unit that is a dual enrollment- I have it in both II & RCI- so far have only deposited it in II. Originally my plan was to use the unit as a way to be able to get access to getaways in II…
I don’t think you necessarily have to move anything- just call interval they were incredibly helpful.

Even though DVC has flip flopped between RCI and II over the years, we may not see it ever go back to RCI. II has a lot more might behind it now that it is owned by Marriott Vacations Worldwide. It is a big selling tool for Marriott, Vistana and Hyatt. Hyatt also has a new resort coming to Orlando that will have a new sales center. They will push the ability to trade in II for DVC resorts using Hyatt points.

I know that I would never consider using RCI as a DVC member. I would consider using II, however, if I had DVC points that I didn't bank and couldn't use because no availability.

What others wrote. I would add that the #1 rule of timeshare has always been, "Buy where you want to stay". Which I suppose means that the #2 rule of timeshares is "Buy into the timeshare system you want to use".

Assuming you want to stay at WDW, there are a number of good resort resale options available. If you want to visit DL there is really only VGC.
