I have a 2 bedroom at Grand Mayan nuevo for 6 nghts than move to Sheraton PV for 2 nights (4 adults + 2 teens) or I can get a 3 bedroom at Dreams Villamagna resort for all 8 nights plus a few bucks.

What do you think?

I was looking forward to the GM grounds but not moving.

This is a tough call.

Three bedrooms would be nice with that many folks, BUT, the Grand Mayan is really nice. We like the Sheraton too, because of the location and often spend a week at each. Last year we did the week before and the week after Thanksgiving at the Sheraton and the week of Thanksgiving with our family at the Grand Mayan, so we moved twice! It was worth it for 3 weeks in PV!!!

Is the Dreams all-inclusive? That would be a deal breaker for me because we love to go to all the restaurants in PV and Bucerias.

thanks for the response

Dreams is NOT all inclusive. The three bedroom is a private residence.

We decided to stay with Grand Mayan due to facilities/pool etc..

The Grand Mayan is great. Be sure to take a taxi to Bucerias and eat at one of the beachfront restaurants one day. They are good, reasonable and a good experience.

The Mega in the southern part of Bucerias is the best place to buy breakfast stuff and snacks.

Do a search on TUG for good restaurants in Nuevo. There have been several threads for those. La Porenta is very good as is the Italian place across from the Sea Market - I think it is Guido's. The restaurant at the Sports Bar above the OXXO store is pretty good too.

I agree with La Portena an Argentinian Steak House
Guidos which is right next to the Sea Garden has good Italian (They have a Malbec red wine that is good too)
Our favorite restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta is EL Pescatore. which is right by the Paradise Village Mall. It has seafood, meat and Italian. (Excellent quality and reasonable prices for the quality)
Karens in Bucerias has a great beach atmosphere and is a nice meal Not an extensive menu but very good.
One highly recommended restaurant I will not return to for a good meal is Eddies Nopal Beach. It is a fun cheap place to drink and eat but the food is mediocre at best (It is the # 1 restaurant according to Trip Advisor) I was served the thinnest most overcooked piece of dorado I have ever had there the sauce was good however and the rest of our party the best they could say was it was ok.

thanks for the advice

Any precautions you reccomend to keep from getting traveler's....

Capjak,

Unfortunately I have had to turn into a self help health freak.

I use a probiotic that can I can bring from the US without refrigeration. Jarrow makes Jarrodophilus that goes without refrigeration. http://www.jarrow.com/product/228/Jarro_Dophilus_EPS
Raw saurkraut, yogurt and pickles may help the digestive tract.
Don't drink too much alcohol and become dehydrated.
Hydrate with plenty of purified or bottled water.
I stay with the good hotel restaurants and the major restaurants. I avoid eating from beach vendors and taco stands. Have a good time and dont over stress.
