It's Friday night , time to order the pizza.

The local Domino's charges a $2 delivery fee, should I include this as part of the tip?

No. I very much doubt that $2.00 goes to the kid who delivers the pizza. Of course if you want to be cheap you could deduct $2.00 from what you would have given.

I don't. I tip what I tip regardless. When I go to one specific entertainment venue in town, they charge $8. (!) for valet parking. It was a shock to me the first time, because most valet parking is free in this town. Still, I tip, because I believe that the venue gets the fee, not the valets. Besides, the valets are very good to me, and bring me my car almost immediately, regardless of how many are waiting :) Who wouldn't tip for that kind of service?

I decided to be cheap, I deducted the $2 from the tip. I only tipped $74 or 3.7%. It seems like a lot of money but we had them put gold leaf as one of the toppings which brought the price up a little.

Yikes! How much pizza did you get? I was thinking you were talking about delivery of one pizza. A $2.00 delivery fee for that much pizza seems quite reasonable.

I think you've been had...

On the other hand - I don't think I'd think twice about giving a kid an extra $2...

My son drove for a local pizza chain. It's a horrible job - abusive customers who are mad because their pizza isn't right or it took too long. People who literally count out exact change. Thank God he was never robbed, it happened to several of his workmates.

They always get 10 percent or five bucks, whichever is more, from me. Usually a buck extra if the weather is horrible.

If you go to their website it clearly states that the $2 is not a tip to the driver. Probably has something to do with OSHA cost or who knows, maybe just added profit for Dominos! I still tip 15-20% of the total bill because the drivers are always very courteous and the pizza arrives very hot.

I believe they started the $2 delivery charge when the price of gas jumped up to $2 (was it that long ago?). I usually give them $5. If I order delivery from a location far away, or have a large order, I usually bump it to $10.

A kid in our town, who delivers for Dominoes, said they weren't supposed to tell customers, but yes, the drivers get the $2. It covers them if someone does not tip.
We still tip.

A $2.00 tip for a driver is too slow. We usually tip $5-$7 bucks.

The service to my home saved me gas.
