I am at Wyndham Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach, NC. Checkin was ridiculously long because we had to wait in line to get the parking pass. The ladies at the parking pass desk were talking hush, hush about Wyndham has taken over RCI and they were only sharing with RCI members. There is a dinner planned this week, maybe tonight, for discussion on how to make better use of timeshare and to get first hand inforamtion on the changes. When I declined to attend the dinner, I was offered another chance to get information at a breakfast on tomorrow morning with some free stuff, of course. I declined. Just could not sit through a timehsare presentation. I was called this morning with another offer. Declined again.

Has Wyndham taken over RCI? Does anyone know what is going on? I have
not been on TUG as much as usual, so I may have missed some discussion. I did a search, but found nothing. If there has been some discussion, please reference the post. I am sure that I can get better information here than listening to Wyndham.

Thanks.

These "dinners" and "meetings" are sales pitches to get you to convert to RCI points....don't bother!

Has Wyndham taken over RCI?
Yes, according to the last line in this page of RCI's company overview on their website: RCI is a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN).

From Wyndham's corporate info you'll notice under Wyndham's Exchanges and Rentals the listing for RCI, which takes you right to RCI's website, and the listing for Endless Vacations, which takes you to the website where RCI member deposits are rented out to the general public.

Sales sales sales. Avoid it

Has Wyndham taken over RCI? Does anyone know what is going on?.

Wyndham & RCI have had the same corporate ownership for a few years now. Which "took over" the other - or if they did - really doesn't matter. They are linked and there is nothing new or newsworthy in that.

Ignore it all as it is all a sales pitch - nothing else.
