Does one get Marriott Bonvoy points if one pays MVCI maintenance fees

If I pay the maintenance fees for either MVCI deeded weeks or Destination points, do I get Marriott Bonvoy points (irrespective of credit card used)?

Of course, I know I get Marriott Bonvoy points when I use my Marriott Bonvoy credit card to pay for those maintenance fees.

If you wrote a check or used a credit or debit card not affiliated with Marriott you would receive no Bonvoy points.

I have used the Canadian Marriott Bonvoy card last year to pay Marriott maintenance fees- I go the same premium in Marriott Bonvoy points (per dollar spent) through my Marriott Bonvoy AMEX card that I would get by paying for any stay at any hotel from Marriott family around the world. But no Marrott Bonvoy points for the actual payment to MVCI, unlike the hotel stay room rate where I do get double dipping Mariott Bonvoy points- once from the credit card and one from the hotel stay. Why is that?
