Does Costco still do price adjustments if an item you purchased goes on sale later ?

Yes! Just hold on to your receipt and take it back to the customer service desk for a price adjustment; after the sales start.

Price adjustment must be make within 30 days of purchase.

Within 30 days, yes. You don’t need your receipt. They can check your purchase history.

I did this last year when we moved. We needed a hand truck. It wasn't on sale but we already had the mailer showing it $20 off starting a few days later. Problem was we needed it NOW. I bought it at full price then went back and had them adjust the price and refund the $20 after it was on sale.

If you purchased online you can request a price adjustment online. No need to go into a Costco.

Actually, if it was a Costco.com purchase, it's easier for it to be price adjusted online. There is even a link from the Costco website. Most warehouses will send you back to do it online. Push comes to shove, you can return the item in the local warehouse, and buy it again at the lower price, but that's a hassle.
