When someone converts a deeded week to points, does that include transferring title to Wyndham? Or is it just trading the right to book that week at that one resort for the right to use points to book at any of the resorts in the points system, while retaining title to the deeded week? My dad converted one of his weeks & included my brother and his wife on the points account. Now we’re trying to figure out whether we need to add them to the deed or not, for inheritance purposes.

TIA!

I honestly dont know for sure but I would have to think it does. And should be easy enough to check, go through the reservation process and see who's names pop up to reserve it under

The deed doesn’t change. A converted deed will not show any association to the points system. Your trading your week for the predetermined points that can be used up to 10 months before checkin at all Club Wyndham Plus Resorts

this is not nuch different than UDI... the individual owners own the property and have deeds to prove it, but the use rights are determined by the club

With UDU deeds the use rights are assigned to the club from the very beginning of the timeshare. With a converted week the use rights are assigned later by the owner.. Also with a converted week an owner can "opt out:... remove himself from the club or "un convert it ; with a udi an owner cant do that

Thanks. So if my dad wants my brother to inherit that week at KBV, we should add my brother’s name to the deed. I appreciate the clarification!

I believe you might have been SLIGHTLY misled by the Owner's Update (THE sales guys). No, you do NOT have to trade in your fixed week deed to get Wyndham CWP points ... except if they take your deed for you to become a CWA points owner.

CWP is deeded ownership. ARP is limited to that week and unit.

CWA is a certificate ownership of points deeded in a CLUB .. which owns the underlying deeds and your ARP is shared with the other CWA owners (but limited to what CWA owns at each resort).

Okay, so it depends on whether my dad and brother are in Club Wyndham Plus or have Club Wyndham Access? I wasn't involved in the 2015 transaction and really don't have any idea what they did.

Add your brother and you might be able to also add with full right of survivorship. That way it automatically goes to your brother and is not inherited saving money later

Technically you are assigning your right to use the deeded week to Wyndham in exchange for points.
