Does anyone use their points for Cruises?

I'm looking at taking an Alaskan Cruise this year with some friends and I looked at RCI but that was worthless. They're the same price as anyone else pretty much.
Is there a good way to use Wyndham Points for a cruise? Anything that would discount the cruise or make it better in some way, bigger on board spending credits or something?

The only cost effective way to spend your points is on a points reservations or RCI exchange.

For wyndham you have to call up and see how many points for x cruse but I would expect to use a lot of points as in 900,000 points for a $2500 cruise.

Points for ANYTHING but trading for another time share, either through RCI, II, or your own Vacation club is a losing exchange.

Do the math:

Take what it costs you in maintenance fees per point and figure how many points you are using and the cost you will still need to pay
for the cruise.

Then look at the cruise cost outright from the cruise line and you will see you are getting at best 60% of the worth of your points.

Yes, it reduces the cost of the cruise but realize you lose value on the points.

Call Wyndham and ask what options they have. What everyone is saying is correct, you will loose value, but what they are forgetting is that your budget may not support an additional $2500 over your current MF. Now that it is MUCH harder to rent out your points to convert them to cash. You may loose value, but it may still be a better option for you to convert them to a cruise. Only you can decide that.
