Does a Marriott studio have a partial kitchen?

Hello,

I am looking at exchanges for this summer with an II deposit I have. A studio at the Marriott Horizons in Branson is available for a time that works for us. I have tried to search to see if a studio at this Marriott has at least a partial kitchen, but to no avail.

Could anyone help me out with this info? I don't want to book it if there are absolutely no kitchen facilities.

Thanks,
Diane:hi:

I've just looked on II and there is no 'LK' symbol next to an efficency room where I would expect to see one. For resorts such as Aruba Surf club where I know there is a 'mini kitchen' in the efficiency the 'LK' symbol always shows. I would say it's reasonably safe to assume that there isn't any cooking facilities in the room.

Thanks for the help. I don't know why I wasn't looking more at those little symbols. It's been a while since I've done searching and obviously I'm rusty at this. Thanks for the insight....I'm going to pass and keep looking.

I just looked up Horizons in Branson on the Resort Database part of TUG and there is a review from a few years ago that states: The difference is the second bedroom in the lock-out is larger with a queen bed, a sofa pull out, and a small kitchenette. If you are looking for a lockoff or studio as you call it, according to this review there is a kitchenette which in Marriott language means small fridge, small microwave, dishes & utensils for 4, coffee pot and toaster - or at least that's been my experience with Marriott lockoffs but I have never stayed in a Horizon. Apparently in Branson they have 2 bedroom units that lock off and two bedroom units that do not. If you see a studio, then it must have a kitchenette. Hope this helps. Linda

Yes

I was just at Marriott Branson and I looked at a studio. It has a kitchenette.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the valuable information. Could you clarify for me if the kitchenette has a microwave only...or did it have a small stove suitable for cooking small meals, etc.
Thanks,
Diane:cheer:

I have never seen a small stove in the lock-offs. Just a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot & dishes/glasses/cutlery for 4. I think there is a kettle too.
Why not give MH in Branson a quick call to see if they have what you are looking for?

Called Marriott

OK, here's my quick update. I did take the advice of the above poster and just got off the phone with MH in Branson. She told me exactly what the above posters stated....that the studios come with a microwave, small sink, dishes and glasses, small fridge, etc., but not a small stove. She also told me they are 375 sq. ft. and only have an entrance from the hallway, no balcony or patio, etc.

Kitchenette

Diane,

I think it had a small stove but I am nor 100% positive. I just walked through one so I don't remember all of the details.

Good! Did you specifically ask if there was a balcony? At Ocean Pointe, the "lock-offs" have a balcony. You enter from an interior hallway just as you wld for the 2BR.( but Kingfish building @ OP may have an exterior hallway...I have never stayed in Kingfish @ OP but last time I was there it looked like an exterior hallway...anyway...I digress...). The lock-off @ OP is basically like your traditional "Hotel Room" but they have the "kitchen amenities" that we have mentioned here. I forgot about the sink....everything "including the kitchen sink!! LOL ;)

We recently stayed in our Lock off in Ocean Point. It was small! We did a lot of cooking on the outside grill. Worked out fine and enjoyed talking to some interesting people while they were also cooking. One word of caution .. . the studios do not utensils for cooking on the grill. Also there are no dishes to use in the microwave to warm up soup, scramble eggs or etc. Fortunately we asked for and were given a "flipper" and a Pyrex dish . .. but I don't think this is usual.

You are too funny...got me laughing good on this one.

Yes, I did ask specifically, and that's when the girl told me they didn't have either a patio or balcony area and that you enter from the hallway. That's also when I thought to ask her how many sq. ft. the unit was and she went to look it up for me. I thought she was very nice and accomodating in helping to answer all of my questions.

Sandytoes,
Thanks for the good insight about grilling as an alternative. Also, I never would have thought that they wouldn't have a pyrex dish or flipper, etc. so that was very helpful info also.
Thanks again,
Diane;)

There are grills at the end of each condo building. We used them while we were there a couple of weeks ago.

I have never been in a lock off, studio, efficiency or whatever you choose to call it that has a stove. If you want to cook, ask about outside grill facilities, then make a salad and cook a potato or veggie in the micro. Linda

Diane/Flowergurl: My Siamese wants to know if that is your cat playing w/ the mouse. Love that picture.

Smoothair,

No, it's not my cat. It's a pic straight from TUG. Although I will say that it looks exactly like my daughter's cat, Muffy. We are animal lovers in my house. At one point, we had three cats and our dalmatian, Maggie. Now we're down to just Maggie. My daughter took Muffy with her to her apartment. :( We have not been getting any new pets since we are so close to both of us being retired and then we plan to do some major traveling... mostly in timeshares of course!

I love cats and computers, so thought the pic from TUG was appropriate for me to use.

Stayed in an efficiency and was surprised how few supplies available for the limited kitchen. Bought salad ingredients but there wasn't even a salad bowl (NO bowls) - so I used the ice bucket !?! Marriott really should put a few more kitchen utensils, dishes, etc

If you go to MVC website - www.vacationclub.com- you can click on resort search without having an account. You can then look at pictures of the resort and there is usually a floor plan somewhere in the information given. I usually find it as the last picture in that section. That way you can see exactly what you are getting. I do that with all my trades. Just click on the website listed under the resort heading on II's website and search for the floorplans.
